James Lorin Silverberg, is the CEO of ASCRL, Inc., the American Society For Collective Rights Licensing, the largest not for profit photography and illustration collective rights society in the United States. He also serves as the ASCRL liaison to the International Federation or Reproduction Rights Organizations, The International Author's Forum, and the Association of European Visual Artists. Mr. Silverberg is a member of the Bar of the Supreme Court of the United States, and the Bars of more than a dozen United States District Courts. He has also been the President and the Director of Litigation for The Intellectual Property Group, PLLC, where he spent more than four decades litigating cases on behalf of authors and rights owners throughout the United States. During this time Mr. Silverberg also acted as legal counsel for many of the nation's leading arts organizations: the American Center for Design, American Photographic Artists, Graphic Design Education Assocation, American Institute of Graphic Artists/ DC & MD, and the White House News Photographers Association. Mr. Silverberg has taught as a Professor of Law at the Washington College of Law, and as an Adjunct Faculty or Lecturer at the Virginia Commonwealth University, the George Washington University, and the Corcoran School of the Arts. Mr. Silverberg has been a passionate supporter of artists’ rights, earning him a high level of respect from artists’ organizations, publishers, industry partners, lawmakers, and government agencies in the US and globally. Mr. Silverberg earned his Juris Doctor degree at The National Law Center, The George Washington University, and his B.A./Honors from the State University of New York College at Purchase.
