VP Business Development & Strategic Relationships, Sound Royalties
Kevin Day is the Vice President of Business Development at Sound Royalties. Utilizing his two-and-a-half decades of music industry experience, Kevin establishes high-level strategic partnerships with key influencers in the field including music labels, distributors and management firms.
Before joining the company, Kevin founded and served as the President of Rocket Science, an award-winning music distribution company that provided well-known artists, managers and record labels with turnkey solutions to independently release their works into the marketplace. Like Sound Royalties’ artist-friendly model, Rocket Science left content ownership with the creatives, where it belongs.
In 2013, Rocket Science evolved into Skyrocket Entertainment, widening its offerings to mobile app developers, music websites, publishers and other music entities, to help further maximize their revenues in the evolving industry. Kevin continued on as President and oversaw all the company’s consulting services including strategic planning, business development, funding, content management, digital marketing, distribution, licensing and more.
Kevin developed the bedrock of his music industry experience as a Marketing Executive at Universal Music, MCA Records and later Geffen Records, where he spent a combined 12+ years. He has worked with numerous award-winning artists across a variety of genres, including Sammy Hagar, Jackson Browne, Counting Crows, Mary J. Blige, Shaggy, blink-182, Sublime, Gladys Knight, B.B. King, Mötley Crüe, Meat Loaf, Carole King, KISS, Dolly Parton, Common, The Roots, Rob Zombie and Lyle Lovett.
An advisory board member for the Los Angeles College of Music and a trained musician himself, Kevin’s passion for music runs deep and his creative business intuition drives his excellent work for Sound Royalties and its customers.
