Dr. Gigi Johnson at the UCLA Center for Music Innovation explores how tech-driven innovations are transforming music: the song itself, experiences, and communities. She joined UCLA Alpert in 2010 and previously had taught about digital disruption at UCLA Anderson as Executive Director of its Center for Management of Enterprises in Media, Entertainment and Sports. As the Executive Director of the Maremel Institute, she teaches and speaks internationally on future impacts of digital disruption on media and cultural systems. Her corporate background includes being General Manager of two cable/satellite family-oriented video-on-demand channels and SVP/Managing Director at Bank of America, financing media companies for ten years. She received her EdD from Fielding Graduate University, her MBA from UCLA Anderson, and her BA from USC Cinematic Arts in film and TV production.
