Karina Kogan

A media and technology executive with two decades of experience in management, marketing and business development focused on emerging trends and platforms, Karina Kogan serves as senior vice president of digital media and products for Turner networks TBS and TNT. Kogan oversees teams responsible for product management and operations of TBS and TNT’s apps, web properties, digital content and audience development on digital/social media platforms.

Kogan joined Turner in January 2017 following a five-year post as executive vice president of digital for Participant Media. While managing and significantly growing its digital team, she helped catalyze its cause-driven online magazine TakePart.com into a respected, award-winning brand, expanding its reach tenfold to more than 10 million visitors per month. Concurrently, Kogan oversaw digital marketing and other strategic initiatives for Participant’s films, including the Academy Award-winning Best Picture Spotlight, Lincoln, The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, Beasts of No Nation and Snitch, and such documentaries as Citizenfour, He Named Me Malala and An Inconvenient Truth.

Prior to Participant, Kogan spent nearly five years at digital pop culture network Spin Media (formerly Buzzmedia), beginning as general manager of Buzzmedia Entertainment and finishing her tenure as executive vice president for the company. While at Buzzmedia, she launched the company’s flagship entertainment brands, more than a dozen original YouTube shows, and a network of social media influencer businesses for celebrities including, the Kardashians, Britney Spears and Nicole Ritchie among others. Kogan previously held senior marketing and business development roles at PureVideo Networks, CitySearch and Evite.

Kogan earned her bachelor of arts degree in political science, with a minor in art history, from Barnard College at Columbia University.
