As head of Lionsgate’s worldwide television distribution operations and architect of many of the Company’s digital initiatives, Jim Packer directs Lionsgate’s strategies for capitalizing on evolving distribution opportunities in a fast-changing global marketplace.

Mr. Packer oversees the distribution and licensing of Lionsgate’s slate of over 40 feature films annually, one of the largest independent television businesses in the world, a 16,000-title film and television library, and a robust slate of Starz programming to platforms around the world. With the integration of Starz’s Anchor Bay, Lionsgate’s home entertainment operations have become a more than $1 billion-a-year operation with major studio level market share.

Before joining Lionsgate in 2011, Mr. Packer held a series of progressively responsible executive positions at MGM for ten years, culminating in his role as President of MGM’s worldwide television and digital operation. A graduate of the University of Colorado, Mr. Packer serves on the Board of Trustees of the University of Colorado Foundation and the Leeds School of Business. He also previously served on the Boards of Epix, NATPE and The Paley Center for Media. Mr. Packer was the recipient of Broadcasting & Cable’s Digital Leader Award in September 2013 and inducted into Variety’s 2015 Home Entertainment & Digital Hall of Fame, recognizing his achievements in content, entertainment and technology.
